It's a do-or-die situation for the Surrey Scorchers in this year's BBL Trophy, as they welcome the Cheshire Phoenix to Surrey Sports Park for their final Group A fixture.
Coming in with a 2-1 record so far, a victory for the hosts will book their place in next weekend's final four. Defeat, however, will see the Caledonia Gladiators take the second qualification spot thanks to their superior head-to-head record.
Cheshire arrive sitting top of the group with a perfect 2-0 record and will want to book their ticket to Birmingham with a win in Guildford on Saturday evening.
Recent form
Despite a solid campaign so far, the BBL Trophy has provided a nice distraction for the Phoenix, who have lost their last three consecutive Championship fixtures.
They re-discovered their winning touch in this competition, first getting an impressive 100-97 victory on the road against Caledonia Gladiators. Former Scorcher Skylar White lead the way in that game, with 25 points and 8 rebounds. This was followed up with a 102-74 demolition of the Plymouth City Patriots, putting them in prime position to secure a place in the final four.
Key strengths
Sharing and caring with the basketball. This Cheshire team are an offensive juggernaut, sitting amongst the leaders in most key statistics in that area. There are two that stand out though.
They average 21.41 team assists this season, which is ranked second to the London Lions in the entire BBL. What's just as impressive is their turnovers, averaging 12.86 which is the second lowest in the league. This team knows how to move the ball, find the open man and get consistently good looks at the basket.

Their average of 91.68 points per game is also second only to the Lions. They've scored over 100 points in their previous two Trophy matches, so Surrey may have to turn this into a shoot-out and hope to outscore their opponents to emerge victorious.
One to watch
In such a potent offence I think it's natural to watch out for their leading scorer. American Guard Maceo Jack is averaging 17.82 points per game this season, which is the third highest in the league.
He can be an efficient scorer and he can score in the paint, the mid-range and from behind the arc. In his last outing against Plymouth he scored 24 points, shooting a remarkable 90% from the field.

Previous Meetings
This will be the fourth meeting of the two teams this season, with Cheshire having won the previous three battles.
Back in October Laquincy Rideau's 27 point performance lead the Phoenix to a narrow 103-101 victory at Surrey Sports Park. Both subsequent meetings were a bit more one-sided, with the Phoenix returning to Guildford in November and winning by 18 points.
They met in Cheshire a fortnight later and Aaryn Rai's 25 point performance lead the home side to a 100-80 victory.
Tip off at Surrey Sports Park is at 5pm, tickets are on sale HERE. You can also follow the action live on the BBL's YouTube channel.
