Surrey Scorchers have announced two new signings this week as Nedas Cholevinskas and Emeka Obukwelu join Lloyd Gardner's team.
Exciting 18-year-old Small Forward Cholevninskas was announced on Thursday. He's the reigning GB u18 Men's Player of The Year has recently spent time in Lithuania and played a key part in Barking Abbey's EABLE title last season.
Head Coach Lloyd Gardner told the official Scorchers website "We are delighted with Nedas joining our program. He is a player who has proved himself as a high-level prospect through his play with the Great Britain Junior National teams and in the NBL."
He's been registered under the Scorchers franchise umbrella, meaning he's eligable to play in the BBL and for their affiliate club, Cobham Cobras.
Twenty four hours later the Scorchers announced the arrival of 25-year-old American Forward Obukwelu. Hes recently had spells in Croatia and North Macedonia, where he averaged 20.5 points and 7.8 rebounds in 13 games.
He will provide some much needed depth to the front court and brings a rebounding presence that will be most welcome.
Lloyd Gardner told the official Scorchers website "We are delighted to add Emeka to our team. We’ve been short-handed up front since the injury to Jordan Hunt and have been searching for the right player that fits our needs.
“Emeka is a versatile, skilful forward who we see being able to contribute in a variety of ways around the court, and will complement our current roster very well.”
