Following the FIBA international break, Surrey Scorchers return to BBL action on Saturday night as they travel west to take on the Bristol Flyers. With a play-off spot firmly in their grasp, Surrey will have the opportunity to climb the table with a win.
It's been three weeks since these two teams last met. On that night the Scorchers put on a three-point shooting clinic in one of their most impressive wins of the season. They'll be hoping for more of the same against a Bristol Flyers team who have been struggling lately.
Bristol's only outing since losing to the Scorchers was a 101-93 loss at home to the London Lions. Tevin Olison did his best, putting on a 31-point performance, but it wasn't enough to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat for his team.
Although their league form hasn't been great, they are still alive in Europe and will welcome Lithuanian side BC Siauliai to the SGS College Arena on Thursday night for the first leg of their ENBL Quarter Final.
Meanwhile the Scorchers have played twice since their last trip to Bristol. They were beaten 84-75 on the road against the Caledonia Gladiators, but bounced back with an important 89-85 win over the Manchester Giants at Surrey Sports Park.
It wasn't their best performance, but it was a result that put daylight between them and the Giants in 9th place as the Scorchers look to secure a play-off berth for the first time since the 2017/18 season.
This will be the final meeting of the teams this season, with Surrey having won the previous three matches. Two home wins against the Flyers in November were backed up with the aforementioned road win on 11th February. Surrey will be looking to complete their second sweep of an opponent this campaign, having already swept the Plymouth City Patriots.
Tip off at SGS College Arena is at 8pm on Saturday and you can follow all of the action live on the BBL's YouTube channel.
