NEXT UP: Cheshire Phoenix

Surrey Scorchers continue their tough end to the season as they travel north to take on the BBL Trophy winners, Cheshire Phoenix on Saturday. With just four games to go in the regular season both teams are jostling for play-off seeding.

Like Surrey, the Phoenix come into this game on the back of a disappointing loss. They were beaten 89-75 on their home court by the Bristol Flyers last week, despite Aaryn Rai's 27 point, 13 rebound performance.

It was a rare setback in what's been a fine season so far for the Phoenix. They currently occupy second place in the BBL standings with a 20-10 record to date.

They've been an offensive juggernaut this season, averaging over 92 points per game, which is the second highest in the competition. Their offensive rating of 114.72 is the best in the league, with the aforementioned Rai and Maceo Jack averaging 17 and 16 points per game respectively.

You also have to watch out for Skylar White, the ex-Scorcher is a real threat from the perimeter and helps his team really stretch the floor.

Surrey will be hoping to avoid being on the wrong end of a sweep, as Cheshire have dominated the series so far this season. Whilst winning the previous four meetings in all competitions, the Phoenix have averaged 99.75 points per game, so stopping one of the most potent offences in British Basketball will be key if Surrey are to emerge victorious.

Since securing a spot in this season's play-offs with a win in Manchester against the Giants, the Scorchers have dropped back-to-back games. Firstly they were blown out by the Newcastle Eagles, on a night where they were short handed and playing for the second straight night.

Most recently they narrowly lost a thriller at Surrey Sports Park against the Caledonia Gladiators. Abdul Mohamed returned from injury to lead the scoring for the Scorchers with 22 points and 8 rebounds. It wasn't enough though as the Gladiators claimed a 95-89 win on the back of Quade Green's 31 point performance.

Victory for the hosts will strengthen their grip on second place. Meanwhile, the Scorchers will climb above Bristol and move into the seventh spot if they can earn a tough win on the road.

Tip off at Cheshire Oaks Arena is at 5pm and you can follow the action live on the BBL's YouTube channel.
